A journey into the disarming beauty of the 15th, 16th - 18th centuries

Louis XV style furnishings, oriental porcelain and fine seventeenth- and eighteenth-century paintings

Connected to the ground floor by a hall of honour designed by the engineer Giovan Battista Nauclerio in the eighteenth century, on the main floor of the Correale Museum there are Louis XV style furnishings and valuable seventeenth-eighteenth-century paintings of the Neapolitan mannerism school, painters who influenced, in various ways, the new realistic and enlightened experiences of Michelangelo da Caravaggio in the first half of the seventeenth century.

The Hall of Mirrors, the sitting room with the game of Biribisso and the rooms dedicated to Flemish painting and Neapolitan decorative arts from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century.

The sumptuous white and gold living room, full of consoles and mirrors, is the Hall of Mirrors, a location still reserved today for weddings, cultural events, opera and classical music.

This is followed by the sitting room with “Game of Biribisso” and the room dedicated to Flemish painting from the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.

Along these rooms there is a comprehensive panorama of the painting of the Neapolitan decorative arts, from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century, from the Spanish viceroy through the short Austrian vice-regal period until the establishment of the independent Kingdom of Naples and Sicily with Charles Bourbon of 1735.
